Sexually transmissible infections - where to go for help

Where can I go for advice and what does it cost?

You should go to see your regular doctor if you feel able to talk freely with them. Because STIs are common, doctors deal with STIs on a regular basis. Normal medical charges and rebates will apply. If you feel uncomfortable about seeing your regular doctor about an STI, phone the information service provided by:

The Melbourne Sexual Health Centre
580 Swanston Street, Carlton 3053
Telephone: (61 3) 9341 6200
TTY for deaf callers: (61 3) 9347 8619
Enquires from rural Victoria: Freecall 1800 032 017
Web: www.mshc.org.au

All services at the Centre are free and confidential.

Staff can give you up-to-date advice on the phone, advise on the best times to attend the clinic to see a nurse or doctor, or give you a referral to doctors in your area who are able to help you.
