Introduction
Australia's health system is on alert to detect any possible cases of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) following reports of SARS cases in China.
The Department of Health, an active member of the Communicable Diseases Network of Australia (CDNA) remains alert and will maintain an appropriate level of surveillance and response capacity for SARS.
CDNA and the Commonwealth Department of Health and Ageing are maintaining information and guidelines for SARS.
New guidelines were published 25 April 2004 at Australian Department of Health and Ageing.
