Clostridium difficile
Update
Since 2004 there has been a marked increase in the incidence and severity of gastroenteritis, including hypervirulent strains of Clostridium difficile.
Maintaining infection control practices and other preventative measures including the proper use of antibiotics is important to minimise the risk of outbreaks and their effective management when they do occur. Updated information is available for residential aged care, supported residential services, general practice and acute health services.
